Teri-Ann A. Lawson
​

Teri-Ann practices in the areas of conveyancing, probate and civil litigation.

 

She has garnered wide exposure and experience in diverse disciplines within the legal field. Her litigation practice includes all areas of civil and commercial litigation.  Teri-Ann has advised and prepared opinions for major financial and manufacturing institutions, statutory bodies and hoteliers on various areas of law. She has also had to instruct imminent Queen’s Counsel in major litigation matters before the Supreme Court of Judicature of Jamaica and the Court of Appeal for several large commercial clients. Teri-Ann has also successfully negotiated settlements of various claims on behalf of corporate entities as well as appeared for clients in Court-ordered Mediation proceedings before the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica.

Teri-Ann's Conveyancing and Estate Planning portfolio includes negotiating transactions for the sale or purchase of land, preparation of leases, licences, deeds, construction contracts; preparation of wills and obtaining grants of administration in estates.

​

Teri-Ann holds a Certificate in Mediation Practice at the Resident Magistrate level awarded by the Dispute Resolution Foundation in 2006. She is also trained in Supreme Court level mediations.

​

She has previously served as group company secretary for a public sector entity and its various subsidiaries. She is a member of the Continuing Legal Education sub-committee of the Jamaican Bar Association since 2010 and an Associate Tutor with the Norman Manley Law School since 2012. She presently sits as a member of the Bar Council for the Jamaican Bar Association.

Teri-Ann is also a Certified Associate Project Manager with experience in planning and executing projects in both the private and public sector.
